Sonic Field Discovery · Discovery 0.4.2
Privacy
Effective 6 October 2026. This notice describes the hosted public discovery service operated by Sonic Field. Contact contact@sonicfield.org for privacy questions.
Information processed
The service receives the explicit arguments supplied to its tools: short search terms, collection filters, requested language, public record identities, and continuation cursors. It does not request or reconstruct a chat transcript, access Sonic Field accounts, or receive uploaded audio. Reading-list selection and model context are shared with the host application; they are not stored as account collections.
Network providers process connection information, such as IP addresses and request headers, to deliver the service. Cloudflare's supplied client address is hashed with a service secret for short-lived rate counters; the application does not log that address or hash.
Purpose and recipients
Arguments are used to search and read public Sonic Field records and return the requested view. Search terms and supported filters are sent to Sonic Field's public API. Public IDs identify detail endpoints. Cloudflare hosts the MCP service and serves these information pages. The selected source and available text are returned to your host, such as ChatGPT, under that host's privacy controls.
Opening an original source takes you to its publisher, which has its own policy. The service does not fetch arbitrary external websites on your behalf. No application data is sold or used for advertising.
Logs and retention
Production evaluation tracing is disabled. Application logs contain coarse operational fields such as tool name, duration, success or error category, result count, request status, upstream status, byte count, retry count, and cache validation state. They omit queries, filters, record IDs, source text, URLs, credentials, caller addresses, and chat messages. Automatic invocation logs and distributed traces are disabled.
Operational logs are sampled at 10% and stored in the operator's Cloudflare account. Cloudflare's current Workers Logs retention is three days on its Free plan or seven days on its Paid plan; logs are not exported to another analytics provider. Network-provider processing is also governed by Cloudflare's policies.
Public upstream responses and their query keys may reside in bounded, temporary process memory. Cached responses require an upstream ETag validation and are not reused after 60 seconds; expired entries are removed on subsequent retrieval or process termination. There is no persistent search-history, source-selection, or user-profile database.
Your controls
Use short topic queries and avoid including secrets or private information. You can disconnect the plugin in your host's settings. Manage chat history and memory in that host. For a source correction, rights concern, or privacy request, contact Sonic Field with the public page and the concern; do not include authentication tokens.
Support email is a separate communication chosen by you. It is handled through Sonic Field's existing contact channel and is not ingested into this MCP service. This notice does not replace the policies of ChatGPT, Cloudflare, Sonic Field's website, or linked publishers.
